There are several other Customs Union in existence.  The European Union is now past the stage of Customs Union and is more or less at the stage of an Economic Community (refer to table in Q9).  Existing Customs Unions include the Economic and Monetary Union of West African States (UEMOA), the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) and others in the process of establishment include MERCOSUR, the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM), the Economic Community of Central African States (CEMAC), the Gulf Co-operation Council, the Andean Pact and the East African Community Customs Union.
